Graphic Novice #077: Happy Little Trees

This week on the Graphic Novice Comic Book Podcast we tip our hats to Bob Ross and paint some happy little trees… metaphorically speaking. After getting two hour plus of audio problems, we get to recording, and slap together a fairly disjointed episode, even for us.

The “General Banter” segment includes a discussion of Nickel’s podcasting schedule and the History of Bad Ideas Nicolas Cage Special, Green Up’s 100th episode, A lovely and undeserved gift from Desmond Hassing, VF’s insurance woes, Twitch TV and of course, Bob Ross.

VF & Nickel partake in a showdown of incompetence in the “Marvel Trivia Box” segment.

In “Rapid Fire Review” we discuss comics released on October 21 & October 28, 2015, including Cognetic #1 (of 3), Hacktivist Volume 2 #4, Batman Eternal #3, Black Canary #5, Clean Room #1, Gotham Academy #11, Tokyo Ghost #2, Amazing Spider-Man #2, Invincible Ironman #2, Uncanny Inhumans #1, and Grimm Tales of Terror, Volume 2 #1, Batgirl #45, Grayson #13, We Are Robin #5, Black Magick #1, Manifest Destiny #18, Spread #11, They’re Not Like Us #9, New Avengers #2, and Valiant’s Book of Death #4.

We wrap things up by taking some shots at Dark Angels and Pretty Freaks and playing some outtakes from the first 2 hours of the non-show.

We hope you like last week’s throwback to our first podcast trip to Vegas and we’re gonna do it again! In honor of Musings-Con 2016 in 2 DAYS in Las Vegas, we present the podcast we recorded from our second annual Vegas trip as a show!
Recorded 9/19/2014 – What started as a great story of the origins of Musings of a Geek eventually devolved into one of our oddest Question of the Universe segments.  Listen as we talk about how Dan met Des, how we met Will, where the podcast came from, how the network started, and how Kevin Smith features in all of this.  Then go with us as we move away from the feels and into questions which include music, sex toys, and the Moon. Welcome to Green Up Podcast #95, Oregon’s number 1 Podcast not by science. With Tech Time Teddy stuck working over the weekend, and by the luck of the gods @Anarchaeologist joins us for most of the show! It was nice for us to catch up with our number one fan from Scotland! After our banter the guys get a little deep and take a moment of silence for the attacks in France, it leads to Ryan and Tristan talking about it and the difference between the UK and the US. To lighten the mood we talk about our weeks, we announce the day and time for our 100th episode and Ryan brings the ‪#‎BlackFriday‬ tip of the week. The guys talk about Fallout 4 and how good it is, Tristan does a good job getting Ryan back on board for the game even though he is hesitant. After Tristan has to go, Ryan and Clint talk about Black Ops 3 and some more video game news with Xbox One Backwards Compatibility and Games for Gold for November.
